I got the clutch on my 1.8 petrol focus (w reg) a bit hot on sunday trying to pull a big dent out of my pals astra It gave the usual smell so I stopped the experiment lol. on monday on my way to work I put my foot down in 3rd and the clutch slipped a bit, its got less and less as the week has gone on and now I can't get it to slip at all under normal driving. I was gonna throw a new kit in tomorrow but the 2 post ramp is in use all day so I'm either doing it at home on the drive or I'm just gonna leave it and see how it goes. So could getting the clutch hot have glazed the friction plate and over the week its worn back off? the clutch has been biting right near the top for ages. ;D

I've had to change the clutch on my mk1 focus 1.8 petrol After it had been slipping for around 6 months under heavy acceleration only ie motorway slip roads It was fine like this as careful driving it was fine. Then one week it quickly got worse, I was gonna do it that Saturday but it didn't make til Saturday The clutch was cream crackered! But the clutch bite had been high from the first day I had it 4/5 yeas
Clutch kit and concentric slave where very cheap from are motor factors
I'd expect you've done these before?
Nice and straight forward

I've done a 1.6, was simple enough.
I might go in on sunday and do it when the 2 poster will be free, priced the full kit up, decent make is £86+vat
