I got a E200 COMPRESSOR 03 in today with brake failure.Warning on dash and would not come out of park.It has sbc and I believe the pump has failed. If you drive the car there is very very poor braking effort. I can locate a second hand SBC unit but dont know if it needs to be programed to car ,Anyone have experience of replacing these?? Cheers

Its a dealer or specialist job would be my view, wouldnt think the average garage would have much if any experience with it nor equipment.

Ya, think your right mac57, Ive been talking to a lad that worked for years in mercedes,he now works on his own and said if I get second hand unit he will sort it out for me. They can be a disaster if you dont know exactly what your doing. I believe even changing pads if you open doors ect while pads are out they can activate the SBC and blow out the pistons and if your unlucky enough maybe take your fingers with it. Modern cars eh
