Get up to the local supermarket at 8.30 on Sunday morning to laugh at the people who forgot to put the clocks back.

I remembered to do it but I could not help thinking of Valhalla. Daylight hours must be getting short up there now. What time does it get bright at?

I remembered to do it but I could not help thinking of Valhalla. Daylight hours must be getting short up there now. What time does it get bright at?It all depends on how you define "bright" - it's a bit relative around here......
It appears to be reasonably bright around 8:00am these days, but very noticable (now the clocks have gone back) how dim everything gets after 5:15pm. Around this time of the year, even away from the equinox, it surprises everyone just how short the days become, and how fast. It's pitch black at 6:00 tonight, but 5days ago it seemed not too bad at that time.
Soon be Christmas!!!
I think we are in for a tough Winter this year, so it wouldn't surprise me to find the power supply being erratic as well. Sadly, not enough wood is cut and away at the moment, so I need to get my skates on and get chainsawing/splitting before it's too late.

I don't have those problems, all my clocks are automatic so everything is adjusted without me touching any

That seems to be roughly the same as around here (central Ireland) The last time I visited Scotland was about ten years ago. I was in a group which included a Scotish friend of mine. We are technical types and noticed that it got dark earlier in Scotland. We then calculated how much of the difference was due to Scotland being further east than Ireland, and how much was due to Scotland being further north than Ireland. We came up with an answer but we didn't write it down because the beer mat was wet... That Speckled Hen is a nice beer!
