Whats the stance on front seats on a 3 door car if there's a defect with the release mechanism? That is, if on one seat , the lumbar section can not be released to allow the egress of rear seated persons?
Personally I thought it would be a fail......
Over to our resident testers.....

Pass and advise, as long as I can squeeze behind the seat to check the rear seat belts.
TBH if only 1 front seat wouldn't fold forwards I probably wouldn't even bother advising it.
Rarely both front seats are like this, although I have seen a few fiestas

Thanks Stu, My daughters Corsa (63 plate) although it passed, the front drivers seat would not unlock from the upright to allow passenger access/egress....both cables were snapped at the top!
What a repair!.....seat out, split lumbar from main, strip off covering etc. etc.....
As I said before , VX cars are crap..... I think a gall of unleaded and a box of SV matches....will sort it..😂

I've never actually failed any three door car for this type of problem, but I remember once a VE asked me the same question, and I said to him that it could be a legitimate reason to refuse to test the vehicle, and then he asked why, and I said because I might not be able to gain access to the rear seats and their belts, and as Stu said, and the VE said the same, can you not gain access through the central area of the front seats to check them, and I politely advised that given my BMI I might not be in a position to gain access through the central area and if I twisted my back in doing so then under health and safety rules I'd be in my right to refuse to test the vehicle because I have not got proper access to all testable components.
Guess what the VE said to me?

Make sure you set the headlight beam tester up correctly? What did he say?

Bad manners was it?

Guess what the VE said to me? "Look carefully for broken springs and leaking dampers, after you have checked the belts for retraction over their full length"?

is it the range rover evoque 3 dr. that only has the seat move sufficiently on the passenger side for access to the rear or is it my premature old age playing tricks on my mind?

Bad manners was it? Nope, try again
