53 plate(yr 2003), temp gauge gets to only about 60ish degrees, heater works ok on a run..
Owner was asleep(night shifts) when I had a quick look at it this morning.
Spoke to him on the phone later, he said even tickin over for an hour, temp doesn't rise and the heater has little output.
I took it for a drive, 3 miles approx, heaters ok, temp just above 60..Obviously it's cold out, and dervs take longer to warm up etc, but what's the normal running temp for these?
Place your bets, thermostat or waterpump?
Common problem with these apparently..
I've got to go back, sort this, full service and unblock washer jets, also dry a headlight out.

Leaving a diesel for an hour at idle wont get 'hot' in this weather
Can you give a good run ie more than 3 miles and then check engine temp on your data logger

Wouldn't it over heat if pump was un serviceable ?

Think these fail safe open , normaly temp rises while stood and drops right down on a run , i have come across these with dual stage thermostats fitted that cause the temp to stay at 60 ish when caput ,normaly rated at 85 approx
