Well me and my Mrs are expecting our first child in December this year, my corolla is fine for me for getting to and from work and the boot is a good size.
However her Hyundai I10 is certainly not up to the job for carrying a pram and shopping around for our needs.
I've never bought a French car before and I'm not that keen but I like the idea of a big car and when you open the boot it's on one level so my mrs won't struggle when she is on her own with a pram plus you can pick them up fairly cheap and I can use it as a van when I want to go to wickes.
We do between 6 - 8 thousand miles a year with a mixture of city driving and the occasional A road so I'm assuming a 1.6 petrol would be the better option, no turbo or dpf to worry about if I bought a diesel.
So I thought I'd ask for advice which would be the better one to go for or a certain engine which is more reliable than another.
Or even a similar car which is preferably reliable and cheap.
Thanks

Front ends of the sills are a weak point, but the outer skin is visible enough to see if it has been wagged-in, or about to cave-in.
The electrics are a nightmare, whatever engine model you go for. Just make sure everything works before you buy.

The country is not short of a car or too anymore, sit back and take a look around and put your money to something worth having.

The 1.6 8v or 16v units are simple enough units.
