DVSA advise;
Motorists will soon be able to replace a lost, stolen or damaged MOT certificate online
DVSA will launch a new online service on GOV.UK later this month to allow motorists to replace a lost, stolen or damaged MOT certificate.
There will be no charge for the service.
They'll need the vehicle registration and vehicle log book reference number to use it.
You'll still be able to offer duplicate certificates and charge up to £10 for them.
We'll tell you more about the new service over the next few weeks.
Of course MOT Stations will still be able to charge £10 for a duplicate certificate once the gossip has gone round and people can get FREE MOT Certificates online, of course we will be able to charge for duplicates, what are DVSA thinking here!
I suppose it'll not be too long before the public can order a new Test Certificate online without visiting the MOT Station for the test at all!!!

I can't recall the last time anybody was asking for a duplicate MOT certificate.
The paper MOT is history - everybody looks at the online MOT history.
