Took my Fiesta for its annual mot yesterday..... Reading the emissions results showed that the 2500 rpm test wasn't there recorded on the sheet, just the idle test results....
Is there a different test carried at the tester's discretion?

My reading of that is that he did the fast idle test, but the speed of the engine whilst doing the test was not checked.

That printout tells me the tester is using a SUN DGA 2500, the rpm pickup for that model was never that good even when it worked, hence testers just bypass it, me included

Yep exactly the same as my old Y plate Astra just done yesterday.
Pretty amazed that with original engine & cat etc it returned 0.00% CO and 0 HCs, gotta love those old 1.6 8 valves! Better than both the newer Astra in the family, and more economical than them too- where’s the progress? 🤔

Far better to not have the accident?
"You cannae break the laws of Physics", as I used to annoy my senior management, "simply by applying modern design". Your body has to stop from 30mph to nothing in the length of the car, or less, and that is going to hurt. The more you understand this principle, the more cautious you drive.

There is an invisible killer, it's called kinetic energy, you can't feel it, taste it, touch it, smell it or see it, but you can work with it. If you accelerate to 60 mph in 10 seconds then you should decelerate in 10 seconds to discharge the KE. If you charge your body with a few hundred thousand joules of energy in seconds and then stop immediately in 1 second from high speed, you might look OK on the outside, but you'll be more than likely dead or at the least seriously injured by internal bleeding organs.
