Discovery 2 (x reg) diesel automatic 145k on clock
Came in as part ex one of prep guys sucked all fuel out drove it and it cut out. And hasn't started since.
Hes Put fuel in a tried starting with easy start and no joy.
I've been told to have a look at it when it. Properly had brief look other night.
Hazards on soon as ignition on.
Tried bridging inertia switch still nothing. All fuses where ok Had injector signal
Went got someone to crank while spray brake cleaner into intake and not even a flinch at trying to start.
Anyone got any ideas on if it could be anything?
I had an idea that he perhaps got it going on easy start an it gave its self a death rev.
But not admitting to it.
Any one seen something similar that could have any ideas before I go back an have a look?

Well as usual in my place get about 15 minutes into something then they want the waiting service done instead
So basically achieved nothing.
Got launch on it. Wouldn't talk to engine even under obd
No fault codes in any system other than transmission had two can codes.
Fuel at filter in rear wheel arch couldn't locate another?
Fuel pump relay has has power on both 30 and 85
Every fuse I can locate on car is ok
Hazards still flash. Had battery off even had a go at joining two wires together and as soon as ignition on hazards come on and stay on. Also noticed interior light on permanently too like its in some crash mode maybe?
It has some real bad bodged wiring just poked piggy backing into another fuse.
Data connector was just haggling loose. But hidden if that makes sense.
And that's pretty much where am upto ATM
Still think their maybe some engine internal failure with it not even attempting to run on some sniff

Do I understand you correctly that it was running OK until it ran out of fuel ? It only has one fuel filter - in wheel arch as you say . And they can be difficult to scan - know anyone with Hawkeye or similar ? Can you hear pump running when you switch on ignition ? To bleed the system see here : www.lro.com/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=8788. Put in a decent amount of fuel as they can have difficulty if only a small amount in the tank . Doesn't sound good that it made no effort to start while spraying into manifold . This may help check out the immobiliser : forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=29613.

Yeah from what I was told it was part ex running fine They sucked fuel out literally all of it and it ran dry. Got that print out of bleed procedure from auto data about a minutes before I got told to leave it so not had chance yet. It's just not a good sign that it won't run on the sniff. Will give it another look over next week

I would make sure that you can hear the pump running . The in tank pumps do fail and if a pump was there a while and the ign had been left on the pump could be running dry and could burn itself out . IIRC the pump should only run for a set time but I came across one where pump would run continuously - and would be damaged if left switched on . These Discoveries can also have problems caused by dampness/water in the fusebox under dash on drivers side . If parked up for a while have a look at this.
