Had a look at a 2003 ibiza 3 cyl,it cranks but doesn't start.Previous to this the EML light has been coming on and off for a few months but no change to driveability.
Retrieved the following codes with Launch :
P1517 Main Relay - J271 , electrical malfunction P0116 Engine coolant temperature circuit - G62,range performance P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire detected.
Looking at the spark plugs no.3 was fouled with fuel,I recommended a new coil as the owner said it was down on power and misfiring the day previous. Deleted fault codes,Owner got new coil but no start still.
Re-scanned and the P1517 code returned. I checked for fuel and spark - Ok ,although I thought the spark was a little weak looking. Done a compression test and 200psi on all 3 cylinders. The crank sensor reading on live data is good.
Question is where is this main relay,is it built into the ECU?

Power up relay is listed as in the cabin, either number 8 or 10.
But first of all you need to go through the fuses, you may have a blown one. There are several fuses relating to the ecu!

Thanks Rhubarb
I forgot to mention I did find a blown fuse,I think it was no.41 (15amp) but it didn't make any difference when replaced.
I did have a look at one of those relays, can't remember the number on it.It was a light grey colour,I took the cover off it and watched it working when turning the engine over,it could have been for the fuel pump though.
I will have a look at those numbers thanks, its a start point.
Also do you know where they are? The only ones I could see were just in behind the fuse box,to the right of the steering wheel

Also check the coolant temp in live data, I had one at -16C the other day dumping fuel into the engine

Thanks .....yes I did check the coolant temp it was at 7 degrees C
There are a few relays in behind the fuse board but they are all accessable fairly easily,I may have missed it but couldn't see any others
