I look like having to change my handle again sold both my Jags and bought a 1938 Austin Ruby, no diagnostics Tax & mot exempt when I was a apprentice back in the early 1950's the chap I worked with had a Ruby and we used to have a run round in the lunch hour and I promised myself that one day I would have one, that day has come, I don't know if I should now go on a historic forum but time will tell, I will have to try and find my old whit & BSF spanners & sockets and its a 6 volt system, its been totally rebuilt at some time and have all the photo's showing all the work that as done, back to points, condensor & dynamo and real mechanic's

No need for a historic forum, plenty of old lags on here! Besides which, your new Lady is only 1year older than my project P2 Rover...... I'm sure you will get more lucid answers here in parallel to what you can glean from the equivalent Austin forums. I'm always impressed at the technical knowledge on the Rover Sport Register forum (I'm a member of the RSR as well as several other car clubs), but experience gleaned from keeping these cars going when they were contemporary old bangers is invaluable.

Thanks for the replies, I will have to think about Rubyman thanks studabear, and thanks for your infor valhalla, its surprising how many firms are still making parts for these old cars, when looking on the net you can get almost any thing, at present its a none runner but half an hour after getting it home I had the head off its had water leaking into the engine ? happy days are here again. Reason for getting rid of the jag's I now have the wife in a wheelchair and needing lots of attention so don't have all the time I would like to play in the garage I now have a sign on my garage door Dads service & repair garage open when I feel like it but at nearly 81 I suppose I am lucky to still be on the spanner's. Is that Ruby I can hear calling.

Collected the ruby Monday tried uploading a photo but it keeps saying to big, how do I make it smaller, its only a little car Easiest way is with Microsoft Paint programme (use the right-click button to "Open With" and select Paint).
Just resize by selecting the Resize option at the top of the screen, typically reducing to 25% will get a normal digital image down to a reasonable file-size (assuming that you have taken this with something like a 10Megapixel camera?). There should be an option to lock both horizontal size and vertical size, so when you enter "25%" into one of the boxes, the other will follow-suit.
Then just "Save As" with the file menu, give it a different name so the Paint version doesn't overwrite your original camera shot, best to keep the new file as a JPEG file, i.e. *****.jpg

Collected the ruby Monday tried uploading a photo but it keeps saying to big, its only a little car Hover over the picture and right click will give you various options. Click on the Edit Tab should open your picture in Paint or other. Find the Resize tab and click on it. Resize and skew box will open. Resize by percentage or Pixels. Highlight the Percentage tab and change the Horizontal and Vertical box numbers to 50 on both. They may 100 on both when you open the Resize skew box. Close the Photo but don't forget to SAVE the changes then you should be able to upload your photo[s). HTH Any problems send me a PM.
