one of the mot testers got a spot check by vosa the other day. the astra that he failed on a couple of items was brought back in by vosa man. vosa man agreed and failed it on the same items plus horn n/w. the tester got given,i think 20 points for that. when the mot tester protested and said when tested the horn was working, the vosa man just shrugged his shoulders. the tester went outside to where the car was parked by vosa man and tried the horn,it worked!!! vosa man heard it but said there was nothing he could do because it wa now logged off. customer confirmed horn works intermittemtly depending on angle of wheel!!! ive told tester to appeal but he isnt sure if he can!!! does anyone know what he should do?

I had a chat with our vosa man a while ago, I tested a clio and the washers were fine, logged it off, started service washers no longer worked so I ended up stripping the motor and getting them working.
I asked him what would have happened in a case like that if vosa had re inspected the car, he said it wouldn't be a issue.

He's got to appeal.
My opinion of VOSA inspectors isn't printable.
