hiya everyone had a quick look at this earlier thats all my verdict is saying, cant really see anything obvious in live data. this code wont clear, van is stuck in limp mode when you switch ign on,eml stays on,when engine runs eml flashes. i cant quite find out exactly what this code refers to for mercs. now this van has a common rail with what looks like a sensor at one end and a pressure reg at the other. the high pressure fuel pump is bolted to the front of this engine. anyone had anything similer or know how the system works? geezer reckons it only happend after he filled up tesco diesel!!! coincedence? thanks for reading.

Injector control pressure regulator...Basically the sensors at both ends of the rail..Well known weak spot on these.. In live data is the fuel pressure what it should be?

Check the live data, and if it's noisy and adrift from the setpoint pressure, then probably a sensor issue. I'm less inclined to think that this is a CR High-pressure pumping problem, although it cannot be completely ruled-out, as I haven't seen too many of these vans/engines have that sort of problem, even on the rubbish local diesel we have here.
Very first thing you must do, before pulling everything apart, is change the fuel filter for a decent unit. It could be that the low pressure supply is constricted to the point that the CR pump is starving. A load of bio-diesel content could easily wash through accumulated rubbish in the fuel tank & lines, to block the element.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this P2624 fault? I have a 2008 Sprinter here with exact same issue. Stuck in limp mode. CE light flashing. Fault won’t clear. Any help appreciated. Thanks from New Zealand.
