Thought I'd share this on here, as I'm selling my Beetle. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152606332251?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649It's on eBay with a starting bid of £3250.00, but advertised for sale elsewhere at £4950.00 - hoping I'll get a price somewhere reasonable in between. So if you know of anyone looking or fancy it yourself let me know. Happy to take offers outside of eBay and end the listing early. Located in North Bristol.

No the robbing whatsits wanted an extra £10 for a reserve So just set the start price at the absolute minimum that I would be willing to take on it. If it doesn't kick off and get a single bid at that price then no sell, and just as small listing fee so I'll hang on to it a while do the jobs that need doing and try again in a couple of months. If it only goes for the starting price then I'll be upset that it's not reached more but I'll won't lose sleep over it.

£10 That's on top of the listing fee, plus the final value fee. Then if the seller pays a deposit via PayPal there's a fee on that. Usually costs about £30-50 to sell a car on eBay, which is why it's often my last resort - bearing in mind a winner bid often ends up being a no-show or time waster.

Yep! all done and dusted.
Sold via ebay on Monday for a reasonable price, so I'm happy enough. bearing in mind there were still a few jobs needing doing, so I've passed on the parts and it's someone else's problem now.
I arranged to pick up the seller from the train station, drove him back to mine 9 miles in 6pm traffic all through town, so had a good chat on the way and thankfully the car behaved. It was also typically the first rainy day we've had weeks, and I've only ever used the wipers once before. Not ideal in a car with a knackered alternator.... but it held it together.
we drove back to mine, went through the paper work and off he went.
10pm I got a text, he was stuck on the M6!
I thought, oh no he's broken down but thankfully not the case. The motorway was at a stand still and he'd been sat there for an hour already. he just wanted to let me know how comfortable the Porsche seats were!
I did get a text next day to say he made it back ok in the end and he seems fairly happy. and wanted to knwo more about who I got it from, turns out one of the previous MOTs was from a local garage a mile down the road from him.
Anyway... thankful for a very smooth and pleasant eBay transaction, that's a rare thing indeed especially where selling cars comes in to play.
So, looking forward to the next chapter and finding something to fill the space in my garage.

Thanks for the offers guys. But I've very keen to get back to bikes for a while. I sold my last motorbike zx9r almost 3 years ago, the plan was to get another the following spring but then my mk2 Golf died on me and I had to buy a 'sensible' daily so bought a mk4 golf derv instead. After 2 x mk2 golfs, 2 x BMW e30's and a classic beetle .... I ready for a break from project cars. Looking at big engined 1970-80s muscle bikes to tide me over for the next couple years.
