Replace the clear indicators With amber originals
Maybe same with bonnet But parts becoming thin on the ground I'd expect
Good clean original examples of mk4 are slowly increasing. most of course have rusted away or died of natural causes

needs some tlc but mot'd so running project, bit of summer fun Christ, burn those wheel trims! Looks tidy but I agree with Digger trims look awful and don't do the car justice. Depending on the wheel size 14 or 15" a nice set of pepper pot alloys would go nicely. Is it the 1.6 engine but not injection model?

What's the bulkhead like under the battery tray? a fair few of this ilk of Ford platform went to the crushers after 5 years because the battery had leaked.....one reason a mate of mine went from Ford to Vauxhall overnight, and exclaimed he was never going back again - and he didn't, even after 30years! Worth painting and waxing what metal is left under the battery, anyway...

Did have pepper pots on the car but he wanted them for another car and couldn't make a deal for them, wheels came off that, will get some alloys soon Cills, floor, boot are solid as is battery tray(tiny bit but easily treatable) and does have the plastic tray, plus new battery fitted 1.6 cvh non-injection,seems to be down a bit on power but he done the timing belt and ignition timing himself so i reckon it needs some fettling although cruised up the road ok. Not gonna be a minter looks good from 5 feet away, needs cut n polish, was a standard Gl so various bits been added over the years, decent spec inside though,e/windows,e/mirrors,e/clock,sunroof,fuel computer.interior needs valeted but all there and no dash cracks. Will be a week or so before i go back to it as to busy just now but will update as i go,i know you all like piccy's. Pics are one from advert.

A fine bit of 80s Fordness.
As for being down on power it might be an idea to check no-one's been twiddling about with the carb. My 1.4 MK2 Fiesta had a vacuum activated second choke on the carb and someone had bent the rod on it meaning it had a slight delay coming in.

I'm sure i'll be back for plenty advice ,long time since i seen a cvh.

I've only ever worked on one CVH with a mate, head gasket, the upper part of the engine was gunged to high heaven. Cracks in the oily crud like a dry lake bed, scraped it out with screwdrivers..........
I'll guess cam timing out a tooth.

I've got the tool for doing valve stem oil seals with the head in situ should you need it.
