Does anyone know the legal requirements for 3.5t spec lift recovery trucks. Can they be driven on a normal car license and what weight can be towed?

Weight towed is factory spec so it depends on your chassy As for regulations The combined weight may not exede 3,5 tonnes Period Or you need a c licence And a tachograph and a speed limiter and reflective plates If you stay under 3500kilos you can drive it with a b licence provided the vehicle is registered cat b a cat c vehicle requires a c licence no matter the weight

I think it depends when the car license was obtained as well - clearly anyone with a license after circa 1997 is going to have to take additional tests to do anything more than drive a car itself, such as tow a trailer, etc.l etc.
