I've had loads of bad experiences changing fuel pumps. Some idiot always puts them somewhere inaccessible under the car, or under the back seat! That's why I always make sure; a) that the fuel pump has been measured and proven to be at fault b) that the thing that made the fuel pump fail has been fixed first And someone at the factory decides to delete the little access panel for the pump and sender unit.

Okay, thanks. Have you ever bought fuel pumps from Mally's ford spares? How was your experience? I was a regular there for years. He's shit but very cheap.

you can buy a bosch replacement (just the pump not all the plastic round it) for about £60 bit of a pain to pull it all apart but it's a hell of a saving over the complete unit .... last ka pump i got quoted for genuine was about £300+vat .... car was hardly worth that by the time the labours on for the draining and the tank out it's a dear repair
