I don't know if anyone has come across this before but it seems 2008 on Audi's have changed the channels that you need to reset when resetting the service light, I had a bit of grief today and had to do a bit of searching but found this on another site.
Proceed as follows;
With the ignition on. click on address '17-Instruments' and then select 'ADAPTATION'
Go to the 'CHANNEL' box and change the number in it to '40'. Click on 'READ' then in the 'VALUES' box, change the value to '0'. Click 'TEST' and then 'SAVE'. A box will appear to ask you if you are sure, click 'YES'
Carry out this same procedure for the following channels, AND IN THIS ORDER; 40, 41, 53, 55, 02
when complete, exit VCDS by clicking 'DONE, GO BACK' and then close the application.
Switch the ignition off and then back on. If you've got the sequence above correct, the light will be out.

It is, typical German, they think that they have to constantly reinvent the wheel!
You used to just reset channel 2, why they changed god knows.

We do several 2009 and 2010 Audi's here and I have never had a problem! (unless they use a SP SPI handset in the workshop to do the job)

Autel Maxidas, it has service light reset procedures but which ever way I tried it would reset and as soon has you switched the ignition off and back on it would flash up service required.

Nothing annoys me more!
When it takes longer to erase a service indicator than it does to service the car!

So you can't press and hold the trip button while turning the ignition on anymore

So you can't press and hold the trip button while turning the ignition on anymore Some of them you can, but if it's too early or too late or on long life serving then you have to use diag.

It never does the same thing twice when we have to reset it! It is a pig of a car!(with a pig of an owner I have to note!)

Had that with a3 other day following the normal procedure using launch and got mugged off.
Plugged snap on one and cleared it. And much easier too.
Will stick to snap on for resetting light on them now haha

The reason I went over to VCDS for VW work was because of the fun and games I have with my Autel tools - I had issues with both a 54 Polo and a 58 Fox within the same week (and same customer) that drove me to RossTech. I see the 708 forum is no longer of this world, no doubt removed before anyone else posted anything "honest" about the MaxiSys !!

I would like to have VCDS but there's no way work will buy it, you should see the grief I'm having at the moment trying to get them to buy a oil pressure test kit. I didn't have much say about which diag tool they brought but as per normal it all came down to cost, I see that Autel have teamed up with Sealey now, more than likely to have more clout to fight off the law suits.
