Had the above dragged in as a non start. Van cut out on driver at a junction and no restart. Poor fuel pressure to injectors, faults codes aplenty, reduced fueling mode requested, pump timing error, engine shut down request etc etc
So, checked communications between pump/pcm, crank signal, cleared DTCs and cranked. Retest DTCs, all come back. Bolted a fuel pump on remanufactured by a company called Carwood from a motor factor. Normally use a local diesel specialist reman direct from Bosch.
Bled fuel system, cranked and no start to date. At first no codes, then had PCM main relay fault, bit more of a crank and had Pump/PCM communications fault, and then realised it had a 'Eco-tek' (www.dieselbob.co.uk) piggy back module wired (it has a bulkhead module and wiring loom extension breakout style plugs) between pump and O.E pump multiplug. So i disconnected that and plugged original pump plug back in, bit more of a crank and now have no PCM communication! Cant communicate with anything!
Im going to disconnect pump plug tomorrow and try a network test to see if PCM is live in case new pump faulty? Ive had a reman injector from this company shorted out the box from this company not log back so immediatley im questioning pump quality... But i thought ill give it ago!
Can anyone spread any light on this?

Check the wiring loom to the pump VERY carefully. They are very tight and commonly chafe and short out.

I'm just a tad concerned that you've thrown a pump at it going by the codes. Could be a wiring fault, timing chain may have stretched or jumped?

I dont have a habit of doing that To start, the original codes wouldnt clear. New pump fitted, codes have cleared. Plenty of injection pressure now, and DTC present now seems to be another issue all together. Im thinking i have disturbed some bad wiring and now having comms issues.. Or the pumps a load of shite Oh and timing pins all fit nicely so not too concerned about chain although im aware they like to stretch!

This bangers a runner now... Gave it a load of drugs and it suddenly fired into life. Not how I like them to start. After bleeding the injectors with a primer, I usually turn the key and after its cranked abit it goes!
Still doesn't communicate properly, kicks me out after cranking, I think its either got something interfering with the SCP DLC communication wires or some little gremlins!

Does it have a separate injector driver module on these early ones? Like Mondeo and focus
So you had to crank it on sniff
Is your ecu chip now reinstalled

Bosch VP44 injector pump. Binned the eco module too. Perhaps it would have gone in the first place once new pump fitted, maybe i should have persevered with getting it going but kept throwing up randon fault codes when it did want to talk to network. Easy to over look the red herring! I thought it had an air leak into the low pressure side as it seemed to lose fuel @ filter housing and crank for ages once left alone but i gave it a run and seemed ok so ill see how it starts in the morning.
