Just finished watching 'Flash of Genius' Its a movie about a yank called Robert Kearns who invented the intermittent wind shield wiper and his lengthy battle with the evil Ford corporation. Its quite good, decent story, no explosions or spaceships but reasonably interesting.

I'm fully digicalated, widescreen and a couple magical boxes that play and record tv stations and youtube, its witchcraft I tell ya. I'm not even sure how the recorder works or what its called, theres no cd's, just select a programme on the menu and press a button on the remote and it records.
I think that 'Flash of Genius' covered a ten year period that started in 1965. Reminded me of that Russel Crowe movie about the tobacco industry whistle-blower. Ford weren't shown to engage in the same 'thrilling' behavior as the tobacco giants but it had me wondering if anything had been left out of the script for whatever reasons. Equally it had me wondering if the 'Tobacco' script had been embellished for entertainment.
Was chatting in the pub last night about Flash of Genius. I mentioned my usual reference to motor manufacturing by Huw Beynon, called 'Working for Ford' (1973). Theres reviews all over the web, vast majority say its a delight to read, and it is. Kids should read it for O level instead of victorian ethics. Its a jolly little hand book of practical industrial relations that could be transfered to the modern workplace.
