While I was shifting into 2nd gear, I let the clutch out a bit too early, worried of damaging the clutch/gearbox or car components?
When the lights turned green, I got to about 10mph and then shift from 1st to 2nd but in the process of shifting I think I let the clutch out a bit too early while getting into 2nd gear.
I didn't hear any noise from shifting but I am worried of damaging the clutch/gearbox or car components.

Automatic cars are just boring to drive and cost more on fuel.

If your Parents can see this Please Please take the car off him , i think there may be something wrong with him.He just wants to break all components of this car.His afliction is getting worse or else he is a hamfisted plonker.

Automatic cars are just boring to drive and cost more on fuel. Really, so how many have you driven then?

In the short term you're unlikely to do any damage by heavy handed gear changing or less than smooth take offs - look at Learner cars - a friend had a driving school in the 90s and clocked up 210k on his Metro without any mechanical issues.
But modern cars with dmfs etc need some mechanical sympathy to ensure longevity.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. How about the Elephant in the insurance ad, rather than a camel?
