The above car is automatic and when I selected reverse the PDC warning message came on display to say no alerts from PDC. On the dash display it shows the vehicle layout and all sensors are working but I still get the warning message which clears after I cycle ignition a few times but it comes back again.
Any thoughts on where to start with this one.
Appreciate any help.
Thanks Matt

Has the vehicle been power washed recently or been subject to a lot of rain? I think you can reset the PDC as follows. Hold the pdc button for 10 second and start the car whilst pressed should do it.

Thanks for reply. I will try the reset procedure. Car was through a wash but not a jet wash just standard brush type but fault didn't show up for a few days after.

Will check them all out to see if I can hear a difference in tone. Are the sensors removed from outside or behind the bumper. Do you have to remove bumper to get at them. It is an M sport model. Thanks for replies.

Thanks for replies. Not 100% sure if it's bumper off job? If it's one of the outside sensors you might get away with a part removal. Don't go to BM dealer for one there not cheap.

Just an update. I haven't been able to look at problem yet except that when the sensors where displayed on the dash all sensors appeared to be working as I triggered each one in turn which I thought was a good sign. However today the warning message comes on immediately on start up and not just when I select reverse and it does not clear anymore. Is this now indicating the problem is most likely to be a central control unit. Also the dash is no longer displaying any of the sensors front or rear when I trigger them by hand. Thanks for any help.

Striped out unit in boot. Everything dry and clean and all connections looked fine. Reseated all connections. Cycled the ignition several times and also held in the PDC button for 10 secs and started the car. PDC warning was cleared and all sensors working again. went around each sensor and could hear them click as well as display on dash. Drove car thinking problem was sorted but the first time I selected reverse PDC came on again but sensors still displaying. Any thoughts or do I need to get codes read. I have universal reader so will try that but suspect I need BMW capable one for PDC.

I haven't checked the wiring just the part that is visible in the boot. To check the sensors and the wiring I need to remove bumper. I have now found a rear sensor that is not clicking so that is likely to be the problem. I will get one and try that.
