Kept all my army issue socks. Especially like my cold weather issue ones. I,ve got some Norwegian Military spec socks, fleece lined thermal North Ridge long johns, A base layer long sleeve T shirt and a Berghaus micro fleece polo neck under my Gore-Tex (imitation) RAC Rain Suit, along with my Jallatte boots and a couple of different hats. It gets cold up on them moors and when it rains it comes in sideways and when it snows I have AWD on winter tyres and some snow socks just in case. I don,t do uncomfortable it stops you thinking properly

They now sell a thermal pair of the PU gloves which are great for loading the recovery kit and wheel changes in the snow.

I don,t do uncomfortable it stops you thinking properly When I used to go on exercise and pull out all my "Gucci" kit (army term for spending money on have decent kit) They'd all tell me I'm too keen, I'd just say no any idiot can sit an get cold and wet. The amount of times I've seen people sat their feeling sorry for themselves when cold and wet is unreal, what they fail to realise is their out in it even longer by doing it. Helly Hansen base layer shirt an bottoms is money well spent. Also as already said some ladies winter tights get some funny looks but they keep ya warm. What are you using gloves wise? I used to have a set of snap on gloves that did a cracking job. Almost seamless fingers so even smallest nuts were ok with them on. They wore out though and new snap on ones with extra protection are crap.

I get mine from Costco/machine mart, different brands but same idea. www.aquilaglove.com/en/thermalwww.aquilaglove.com/en/thermal
