BMW build motors for the far east market in Vietnam. I doubt JLR will shift any of the high value stuff out there, but I can see Defenders and freelanders etc. going overseas.

Very sad news if it does happen. This will have a huge knock on effect to all the people who supply their parts.

I'm sure that when top gear did the China special, they mentioned about land rover starting manufacture over their, but only for the Chinese market

I do fairly regular runs to Castle Bromwich and Halewood for Jag and Land Rover. If they stop needing the parts, I'll lose work, the people who maufacture the parts lose work, the people who assemble the cars lose work. Not good

A filter company near to me is set to close. 200+ people out of work. Last year, I was doing a regular run to Ashford in Kent for filters to be delivered to PSA in France. As PSA have cut right back on car production, are the job losses here as a direct consequence of this?
