I bought the parts to do some jobs on the Bora but with wifey pestering me to decorate the kitchen and the weather not being the best I decided to let the local garage do it.
Booked it in on the Sat' they would do it Wed',dropped it off before they opened.Left a clear note of what was to be done.Told them I dont need a quote,they are only small jobs.
Change oil and filter.(supplied)
Fit new thermostat.(supplied,got a new housing as well just in case)
Trace and repair leak from temp' sender housing.
Rang them late Wed',conversation went as follows....
Just ringing about the bora,is it done.
Not done yet mate there is a leak from the temp' sender housing.
Er? yes I know that is why I booked it in.
Do you want us to fix it mate.
Yes I want you to fix it,that is why I booked it in.
But the part you supplied mate is the wrong part,we will have to get a price for the right part.
I didn't supply any parts for that because I did not know what was leaking (hose?,o ring?,housing?) I got a thermostat housing just in case,because the 'stat needed changing.
Oh right mate I see,I will get you a price for one.
I dont want a price for one,it wont cost a fortune,just fix it.
Rang them at 1.00pm Thu,
Yeah mate,got the part he is doing it now.
Good,I dont get home until late can you drop the key off at my house when you have done it.(very close to the garage)
Yeah mate,no problem,I will drop the car off,I thought 'no.lets keep it simple' I said no just the key will do.
No key appeared.

I thought somebody was dropping the key off for me.
No mate thought there was an airlock so had another go at it this morning,it is right now.
So can you drop the key off.
Nah mate too busy,you will have to pick it up.
