I just bought the Mac Tools EM823 meter. It has bluetooth so you can connect to your phone. I have looked everywhere in the app store for android and apple and cant find it. Does anyone know where to find it?

That download didn't work. I keep getting security alerts asking me if I was sure I wanted to install it. I installed it on my old phone. Didn't trust that it wasn't a virous. That download is old. the android version came out in 2010. They should be in the apple store or google play. I use my Iphone with my Fluke amp clamp sometime and it works good.

Think I prefer the idea of the fluke meter with the remote Bluetooth display personally, no idea how it compares in price though, not seen a Mac man for years

Multimeters I tend to buy Fluke or Megger...
I just bought into a Megger MIT400/2 insulation tester - Yeah I've embraced the EV revolution.... (but even this I bought the lowest spec one that does not do data to a laptop)

There's a lot of stuff on the MAC that isn't all that useful, personally, I think it's hard to beat a Fluke 88v - and I wish I'd not sold mine when I got a Fluke 3000FC, which has all the Bluetooth connectivity to the additional bits you have to buy... Day-to-day I use volts, amps and that's about it, I miss the duty cycle (PWM) function of the 88v, other than complex, once in a blue moon type jobs, the ability to take multiple inputs on one screen isn't / wasn't worth the money, I can do more with a datalogger and Picoscope for less outlay...
We get the MAC man & van around every couple of weeks but he knows better than to try & sell me meters....
Also found this - didn't know about display lag, but then I've only ever used Fluke https://www.reddit.com/r/mechanics/comments/13zftbi/mac_em823_vs_fluke_88v_or_87v/

I like the Hz/%/PWM ranges on a multimeter. % Duty cycle is something I use a lot. OldGit I use a Fluke 87-5 (V) - which is basically a 88V without RPM counter/MS counter (cheaper by about a 25/30% margin) One thing I am not short of is multimeters - I got them everywhere - I must at least have collected a dozen of them over the years. My three favorites are the Fluke 87V (newish) Snap on EEDM504D (old ish 2005 ish?) Think these early ones are made by Fluke Facom 711 (really old DMM - 90's retro thing) Made by Chauvin Arnoux - painted red and badged up Facom. -------- I think less is more with a multimeter - I have always steered to the simpler models when buying - less gadgets/add on bells and whistles.

Chauvin Arnoux are a really good brand - as good as Fluke IMO, I've got a couple of bits of their stuff, they mainly do mains testing and monitoring equipment, their clam meters are not cheap but don't suffer from drift on DC when used for long periods. Other than the measuring device itself, the best quality leads and probes you can afford can make the difference between chasing an anomalous measurement for hours on end - or not.
