The reason I worry is not because they'll succumb to this stuff, it's because they won't - and be sent off for 'education', which won't go well for the educators, they'll surely suffer from an attack of the vapours. The pendulum has definitely swung too far and can only be banging against an end-stop by now, hopefully it'll be heading back towards simple common sense at a rate of knots in the not too distant future.

I'd not take anything GB News reports as remotely serious or accurate. Like most other news sites they are constantly looking to attract lots of clicks and web traffic to drive advertising revenue by going for full sensationalism at the expense of any nuance or accuracy. The usual way to read those articles in my experience is from the last paragraph backwards, as that's where the quote/suggestion they're basing the other 950 words of the article on is hiding.

Don't over-fret about this sort of rubbish. Sanity will win-out, every time. Hence Nicola "I'm more woke than the Green Party c**ts I have in my coalition, but cannae see the way the wind is blowing with Scotland and its people, even though it's going Force_9 up my a***, and they are all telling me to wind my neck in" Sturgeon has finally resigned as First Minister today.
The game is up for "the woke" and "the fragile" and "social media" in-general......
As Rhyds says, it's only the media that are now trying to fan the flames, because that is what they get paid to do.

Media these days is so strong / powerful / lucrative why will anyone police the streets or become a politician when you can sit on your ar*e criticising on TV and radio for 2 / 20 times was much pay?
Since when do police show their hand during searches for missing people to the media (Nicola Bulley investigation)?
Every morning we have Madeley / Vine bringing in their mates for a fee (most should be retired by now anyway) disecting someone else's work? Imagine this crew commentating on your method of work and whether you undid the clip or the torx first.
Stacey Solomen is reputed to earn £3K per episode of loose women, 60 minute program, 15 are adverts / intro / outro, 3 or 4 other panelists jibber jabbering and a "guest" and her dippy f@cking husband has been bankrupt 3 times avoiding taxes each time........... He should be in a cell
Yours
Angry old man

I am not anti Police at all - as a society we need them (my son is a Met policeman). But they do seem to pick and choose who is worthy to be a criminal now (easy catch or cost effective procecution via CPS).

It seems that's the biggest "crime" these days. You can stab your wife to death and not even get a crease in your trousers, but criticise someone's gender/wokeness/political-correctness.......

Most go to work to achieve something or provide a service - that's a positive, these pundits, critics and panelists undermine anything and everything without knowing one iota about the subject.
Since my post yesterday pressure on the police has lead them to release personal information about the Bulley case - why? because the gutter press are trying to buy stories that detract from the families plight.
This girl wasn't seeking fame and fortune, just struggling with hormones and the pressures of life.
Nearly 30 years working in factories, it takes a lot to upset me

While I believe in freedom of speech and folk are allowed to express their opinions, the Police are defo out of order releasing that info….irrespective of the Press…they should have sought permission from the woman’s family first in my book…if they thought it would help find her… I’m not going to post further on this because it’s got potential to flare up…..

I wont flare up.
Discussion is good, we only have opinions having listened to others and arrived at one ourselves.

I love the fact that we can have this kind of convo on this forum. But I wonder if this thread should be moved over to the Trade section, just in case “outsiders” are offended?

There's a couple of 'balancing' phrases I remember from school / college
With rights, also come responsibilities
The right to free speech also comes with the right to be offended.
In a balanced society, the above were understood & accepted, we seem to have drifted into a position where 'feelings' trump everything - including reality, there appears to be 'thought crimes' on the books now, I read recently about people, including a priest, being warned/reported/prosecuted for 'silent prayer' and 'thinking about the dead' - admittedly, near abortion clinics - although they reportedly were not holding placards, had messages on their clothing or anything else. Just standing there.
Anyway, to lighten the mood, Years ago I had a generator mech. working for me (amongst several), I'd had a few complaints from the client about his language to seniors (he is/was a Weegie and worked most of his life in the Merchant Navy) so I had him in for a 'chat' - along the lines of "Butch, I've had more complaints about you telling the officers they're C**ts" "well they are", (sigh) "well, yes, some are, but Butch, you can't go round calling them that" "So I can't say it, but I can think it, right?" "yes, of course Butch, you can think what you want" "Well I think you're a C**t as well then"....
