Seeing the BBC Citroen estate in your pictures.....reminded me of my late Uncle. He used to work within the BBC Outside Broadcast department, and early on in his career, the BBC used some attrocious jalopies to cart the equipment around. The hardware used to be loose in those days - nothing built-in whatsoever, so it used to slide around a bit, especially if "you got a wiggle on" to get from site-to-site.
Wiggle is something they did a lot, as the jalopy of choice (the BBC's, not the staff) was the Farina Austin Cambridge/Morris Oxford and especially in estate-form. Loaded with lots of valve-gear and heavy leads, these cars were lethal at any speed........and on crossplys, doubley-so in the wind and rain.......

I had a 216 Vanden plas when my bright green Nova SR became too much of a police magnet and i was in danger of losing my license.
