Happy Birthday to you both - late to the party as usual, that's me!!
I have seriously considered taking-up the smokes, during the trials and tribulations of switching Current Accounts within the same banking-group, but not the same "business unit" according to the stroppy b***h from Essex that last answered the phone......
On the other hand, my Mum gave up smoking to have me as a baby. That's what she tells everyone (that wants to listen), but my Dad says that she lit-up once the maternity nurse had wrapped me in the blanket.

Starling for me, switched both my personal and business bank accounts. Personal is 5-10 mins to set up, then the business acc took them a couple of weeks - but that was at the height of the pandemic. Not paying £100/yr to HSBC for the privilege of lending them my money feels nice!
Re quitting smoking, when I did some 30 years ago I bought a book on it that shows you how to break the habits/triggers for a month before actually quitting - after multiple attempts to quit that worked for me first time.

Allen Carr stop smoking? My other half tried that, then when that didn't work she did his course, £220 with money back if it didn't work.It was hell for me for a month......

I am still smoking (lots). I been with the Natwest for all my accounts from aged 16. Business banking costs have doubled over the last two years. Who is everybody else with? --------------- Oh... Happy belated birthday wishes - you two

It's easy to kid yourself. You've always told me you were on 10 a day. Now you're saying you've cut down to 10 a day! I always said I was on 20 a day. It was more like 30 plus!

I always said I was on 20 a day. It was more like 30 plus! 100grams of rolling tobacco lasts me 8 days on average. Plus an odd few cigars - plus sometimes I smoke a pipe in the evening. Don't feel bad about ten a day. 50grams of Amber leaf come with a packet of 100 fag papers - I always have some papers left when I open another 50gram packet. So 100grams over 8 days - with less than 200 fag papers - is less than 25 a day!
