My daughter had four new tyres fitted last week. Unfortunately she clipped a kerb yesterday and there is a very small hole (pin prick size) on the side wall of the tyre. What is the situation for repairing side wall damage? or is it another new tyre?

Your daughters well being is worth far more than a new tyre, not worth the risk imo

Side Wall damage equals the BIN.

It’s painful, but the truth is, you don’t know what things are like underneath the surface. Unlike a balloon, it’s not just a single layer of rubber that’s either good or bad.
It’s annoying but there isn’t really an alternative. If things are tight, you can get budget brands surprisingly cheaply if you shop about a bit…or even part worn (controversial to some but at least they have been inspected inside and out)
Remember “Dodgy rubber only ever leads to trouble” - as Dunlop said.
…or was it Durex?
