Filled my Mondeo ST220 up yesterday afternoon £126.9/per litre. £68 to fill it up. I’d be very happy indeed if I could fill up my Defender 110 for £68. Most times it’s the wrong side of £100.

Price of petrol has started to rise again. Filled my Mondeo ST220 up yesterday afternoon £126.9/per litre. £68 to fill it up. It isn't just petrol, either. I filled the Discovery 2 up a couple of weeks ago, from about 1/4 full. £1.457/litre. £98.50 to brim. It's usually just over £100 each time these days.

It's been 130.9 a litre for standard unleaded down here for the last month or so..This is at a well known supermarket. Back to the original thread, an LPG kit for the future on the MGB, forget all this electric nonsense

I don't know the capacity of a Defender 110 fuel tank but it must be but it must be near to twenty gallon tank. Mondeo is 12.9 gallons or 59 litres plus diesel is a lot dearer than petrol. Remember years ago when diesel was far cheaper than petrol until diesel vehicles became more popular and then the prices switched. Sorry I've gone off topic and having a rant.

Yep def my winter project! Plan is to make it more of a daily driver as I will be doing far less miles than pre-COVID- my company has already said I will only need to go into the office once every couple of weeks or so. We decided over a year ago it wasn’t worth taxing and insuring 2 dailies so my Astra has been SORN since then, might just sell it. But I don’t want to daily the Stag, so this is the compromise- cheap insurance and free tax! Not sure on the engine yet, much will depend on what the B- series that comes with it is like, but as I remember they were quite peppy and reasonably frugal too. If you know how to set up the twin SUs, which many don’t these days. I also have a half formed idea that in a few years it may be a good candidate for an electric conversion ? www.vintagevoltage.tv/quite interesting to watch the program on tv

If anyone fancies doing a Subaru Forrester 2007, I have a near-perfect one (no rust, immaculate interior, missing engine) going free for an EV-conversion.
