HELP! How the &%$* do you get the turbo clamp off? Loosen nut but its still gripping like a limpet, special tool or what? Im thinking hammer and screwdriver time but it could all go horribly wrong at this point :-O

What the heck is the sump held on with??? Anti-gravity from a black hole? So what's the procedure, just keep on bashing the $**T out of it til it goes? luckily Ive got a sump seperator tool but its hard to get access, how does hammering a screwdriver down one side and levering it sound??

Hammer and screw driver dont sound good, twist or kink the sump and you'll never get it to seal again. Try cutting away with a stanley knife blade until it starts to free up

job almost done, thanks for the tips and moral support.
worst bit was shearing the torx end off one of the sump studs :-( Had torque wrench set for 12Nm, either the wrench is shite (shouldnt be, almost new sealey pro range) or something was up with that screw.

Doesn't take much for the threads to go AWOL

yeah, i think a bit of starter thread had dropped out, it was hard to get it going. I spent ages cleaning up the old bolts and doign what I could to clean the bolt holes out. Shoulda stopped tightening when it was obviously not gonna go any further instead of waiting for the click. Seems to be ok, me only worry is there's probably bits of sealant squished into the oil thanks to my cack handed efforts, time will tell whether I've extended the life or shortened it :-D
