I have decided to put a private No plate on my 60 year old Rover P4 80 in memoir of my late wife, because of the age of the car I have to put a date less one on, my wife's name was Lynda so I have found one with the letter's LYN (costing a packet ) but worth every penny, DVLA want to send a inspector to make sure the car is road worthy, I am now 83 and trained as a mechanic when I was 17 and done nothing else all my life, working on cars, vans, lorries, buses and all types of contractors plant, the Rover is in my garage up on stands & I have serviced and checked every part of the car just waiting for the sun to shine & the classic car shows to start, I hope DVLA send a young lad so I can teach him a thing or two All the best from Sheffield

I would like to be a fly on the wall when the DVLA person turns up.

I have never owned a "private number plate".
Enjoy the Classic Car shows Roverman when they start up again.

I have never had a private No plate before, but when I found this one I thought it would be great in memory of my late wife, I have had classic cars ever since I retired (retired that's a laugh) I go to the NEC twice a year to classic car shows, and any local show's. When you are on your own you need a hobby and you can not beat a classic car. My wife use to say I had oil running through my vein's instead of blood
