My next door neighbour has a 15 plate Seat Leon. The horn isn't working. There's no power at the horn connector when he presses the button so I suspect that it's either a fuse or a relay. The problem we're having is in locating these elusive items. There's a fuse box behind the glove locker and another in the engine compartment. None of the fuses are marked so we've checked all of them and they're all OK. Is there another fuse box hidden away somewhere? Between the two fuseboxes mentioned, there's between 30 and 40 fuses in total. I would have expected more. Also, does anyone know if there is a horn relay fitted to these cars and if so, where is it located? The handbook isn't very helpful and I don't think Haynes do a manual for this model. I've had a look online but can't find an answer there. Can anyone help?

Try fuse 15 in the fuse box in the engine bay....15amp rating....

I'll try that thanks although I'm fairly sure all the fuses in that fuse box are ok. He's away for a few days so probably won't see him till Sunday.

Is there a fusebox at the end of the dash that you can only see with the door open? That's the way it is in some other VAG models.

Well, we've fixed this, but I'm not sure what we did. I checked in the engine compartment fuse box as suggested by Chippie. There's only one 15 amp fuse and it was OK. I read on line somewhere that the horn relay was a "type 646" and, as there are two of these in each fuse box I decided to pull them out and try them across a battery to see if they were working. They all clicked when powered up so I assumed they were OK. When we put them back in and tried the horn, the damn thing worked. I presume that there was a bad contact either at the fuse or on one of the relays although they all looked clean enough. Being wise after the event, I should have tried the horn after I checked the fuse and after I'd tested each relay then I'd know exactly where the fault was. I did suggest to my neighbour that we pull the relays and the fuses one at a time to identify which relay operates the horn and which is the horn fuse. He suggested that I do something that I'm sure is physically impossible! He then suggested that we should quit while we're ahead and go to the pub. Difficult to argue will that kind of logic, so that's what we did.
Wheelnut, I took the covers off each end of the dashboard and there are no fuses hiding away there. It looks like there are only two fuse boxes, one in the engine compartment and one behind the glove locker.
