Nice to meet you all. I'm starting my IMI level 2 in August. My first time doing anything mechanical. Mostly I'll just be ghosting about the forum and asking questions (:

We arrange night time seminars all related to the motor trade run by manufacturers and their agents, your welcome to attend any events you wish which run on a Monday evening in the Crewe area and other nights in other parts of the country. If you attend any meetings you can log your training/learning on the IMI website under your CPD training record.

Is there a difference between MIMI and IMI or is that a typo? That you for your offer, if I do ever end up in the area I will of course oblige!

Is there a difference between MIMI and IMI or is that a typo? Yes there are five levels to membership M stands for member which is the fourth level and the highest level F stands for fellow, the only reason I don't jump at fellowship is because I can't see any advantage and the downside is that membership costs each year would increase without benefits as I see it. IMI stands for "Institute of the Motor Industry"

Bump!
SO I got onto the course successfully! So far so good, we just had our first exam and it went well enough.
I was wondering if anyone knew about the progression route towards becoming a fully qualified mechanic in Scotland? I'm planning on finishing this year and doing the level 3 course and then I don't know where to go after that.

Hi and welcome to the forum, electric's and diagnostic's is the way to go. So I should definitely do the IMI level 3? After that what do I need to do to become fully qualified?
