I've use it for over 20 years and still rate it
I've bought merguires and the recommendation of others and will give that a go (as I've bought a bottle of the stuff ;D)

I like Mequiars Gold Class but I am impressed with the Mirror Imagage sample I was given (by a friend) as I did the ST with it last Summer. Still shines after it's been cleaned and dried. Six months or so now. I'll do it again in the spring and give the Golf a good seeing to as well.

I think Mirror Image is unbeatable at its job, but wouldn't use it regularly on the same car due to the cutting action.
Its fine for me as I rarely polish my cars, as a rule they only get a full makeover after 10 years use ready far sale.
Wash them maybe once a year with Stardrops, seems to be more than enough.
Good maintenance and corrosion prevention are my priority's.

I don't see the point in polishing my car or washing it for that matter
I do clean the inside once in a while when it starts to get smelly

I don't see the point in polishing my car or washing it for that matter I do clean the inside once in a while when it starts to get smelly So you keep the mechanical side in tip top condition but can't be arsed cleaning the bodywork. Don't start whinging when you get rust appearing and the sills and major structure starts failing. Once in a while won't hurt you with a power washer (don't forget under the wheel arches ) especially in the winter now there is salt and shite on our highways.

I've sprayed engine oil into all the box sections and greased all the fuel/brake lines and sills So if the panels develop corrosion I'm not fussed

I used to use autoglym super resin polish but I moved to zymol as it's not so chalky when you polish it off.

Everytime he changed the oil, he sprayed the old oil over the entire underside of the car and into the sills using a compressor from a dead fridge. It worked well for rust prevention. It was still rot free when it got scrapped sent from my HTC using proboards android app

Engine oil is still a very good option for box sections, not least because its readily available after a service. Collects a lot of dirty debri when applied externally but jet washes away easily come selling time.
Best product for external panels is Dinitrol 4941, costs about £13 per litre, very hard to chip, even axle stands struggle to scrape it. I cover everything except the brakes in it, even the exhaust, wiring, suspension.
I sold my old Ka about 12 months ago, maybe 130-140k on clock, was still as new underneath. Highly recommended for long term keepers and well established rust buckets.

I went for the meguiars kit when I bought the cav about 8 years ago. Clayed it, paint cleaner, polish and wax. Since then I think I've polished and waxed it twice My next door neighbor polishes his car about once a week ;D but he's a bit anal with it. Thing is when mine is washed (once a week) it comes up like new so I don't see the point pissing about with it all the time. Once a year it may get a good going over but that's it. When I bought the car the previous owner said if he were to keep it he would get it blown over [a href=" "][/a][/url] I use triplewax to wash it as it's usually on offer in asda It's the glass I hate cleaning, drives me fooking nuts. If I could find a decent glass cleaner and some streak free stuff for the bumpers I'd be happy.
