Have a B7 Passat est. One of the parking sensor mountings has become detached from inside of the front bumper. It looks like the sensor is a clip fit into a mounting that is attached to the bumper during manufacture.
What would be the most appropriate way of re-attaching the sensor mount onto the bumper? The bumper looks like its made from typical 'car plastic bumper material' but the holder/mount looks and feels like polythene....??
My thoughts were......re-attach with polyester resin/superglue/hotmelt glue/ epoxy based adhesive....

I wonder if solvent pipe cement would work?

Hey Annie.... I didnt think of that one!.....thanks for suggesting.. The list I suggested is based on what I have in the garage at the moment.... There is of course, the ubiquitous Silicone based stuff....like 'sticks like sh*t' from Evostick Or is it Bostic? Hmmm I forget now...but that is great stuff for diy, might be ok for the car too as it would provide a resilient mount...the others are maybe a little too rigid..

There will be a stamping with the type of material that the bumper is made of on it's inside face. then find the correct type of repair filler rod or adhesive to use.
