I've been having some difficulties with my Peugeot 207 (2010) 1.4l
About 5 months ago having engine trouble. Wouldn't even turn over. Anti pollution warning on dash and engine light on the monitor. Intermittently prior to this I was also getting electrical fault 'battery charge or electrical supply faulty', but it ran fine.
Had it towed to Peugeot franchise repairs who reported they found battery acid leak which has got into the harness and messed with the electrics. Had a new one fitted along with new fuel injectors to replace ones I was told were faulty. New spark plugs. All this seemed to fix the engine problems. It started and ran OK, though I felt it lacked the acceleration and power it once had. The electrical fault warning would keep coming up "battery charge or electrical supply faulty". Peugeot reckoned the alternator might be shorting and setting of the sensor, but as the car was running fine, and battery was charging fine, I left it.
Today tried to turn the ignition and it just turns over, starts (weakly) for a few seconds then dies out. No error messages on the dash.
Main questions I would like answered:
1. What's the likely cause of this? To me it seems as though its fuel delivery related. Cant think its the fuel injectors though as just had them replaced...? Maybe the fuel pump?
2. Am I looking at 2 separate faults here i.e. electrical (maybe alternator) and engine related (i.e. fuel delivery) or could they be linked by single issue?
3. I'm loathed to have it towed to the garage (£100) for diagnostics (£50+). Especially as I'm not convinced the original trip to Peugeot got to the root cause of the issues, as a similar thing has now happened again, and never felt it got back to full power. Has anyone had any experience with Click Mechanic?
Thanks for reading. All thoughts appreciated.
