When you said "world" it immediately got me thinking, as a hologram like that would be quite attractive for people making false credit cards and the like. That site was just the first one I found on google

Guy here bought some GHD hair straighteners cheap from the interweb delivered all packing box all ok hologram everything went to register them seems the hologram had been use 45 times already so they were a genuine fake.

Is there a way you can contact sachs direct and see if they will take them in and verify if they are fake or not,after all its in their intrests as well as ours to get fake parts of the streets (and punnish the suppliers!)

I believe that is what the customer is going to do - he is contacting Sachs direct (he was the purchaser, so no point me trying to do it) to see if they want one or both of the units back to have a look-at. One way or another, he needs new damper/strut assemblies now anyway; the originals have gone back on to keep the car up, but the offside unit is past its prime, and because the old units were stored in a very uncaring way (slung on the scrap heap) then they are unlikely to be good for more than a few weeks now. All in all, this is starting to add-up to quite a bit of labour, although the new Sealey coil compressor turned-up tonight (blisteringly quick dispatch) so I'll have that to cut the job time right down.

The Mrs has brought fake GHD s before They where picked up as fake by uk customs The website looks genuine but of course there 1/3 of the price of the real thing That was £70 down the drain . Genuine ones are over £100 I think It's the women's version of snap on !!

Genuine ones are over £100 I think It's the women's version of snap on !! That's the big problem with buying stuff online, especially from overseas, you can't investigate the product before buying. With stuff that's expensive and often faked I tend to avoid ebay and unknown websites and go for a reputable supplier you can go back to and complain.
