In the list of various systems it can look at is "cent. conv."
What is that short for? I can't figure it out

Also known as the "Central Inconvenience Module" on many VAG cars, as it's the one that sits in the puddles of water hidden underneath the passenger carpet on most...

Does it control central locking?

Does it control central locking? On the face of it ,yes 35-Cent. Locks: Not applicable. All functions moved to 46-Cent.Conv. But I guess it depends on the age /make/model of vehicle....

Might have to investigate under the carpet then. The locking had been temperamental ever since I've had the car

It's not reporting any fault codes. Hmmm. Think its probably best ignored for now

Just leave it until the alarms go off all the time and the windows get jammed open in the rain

It's not reporting any fault codes. Hmmm. Think its probably best ignored for now It's probably not reporting anything, if it's goosed. Trouble is, lots of high current goes through this module, so when it all gets wet, the boards corrode a treat. Interior lights are another thing that can play-up. On the bright side, most Vw's I've done with wet passenger floors have had a dodgy harness, rather than the Central Inconvenience Module packing-up. The harness has lots of crimps for the various junctions in the wiring, most being just under the carpet there, and they all fall-apart after they have got wet for a few months.

Yes, interior light is intermittent, and the lights left on buzzer has given up.
