I wonder why it states 'brake calipers' in their title. I thought my luck might be in, but I can't see any. Is there a knack?

Do not buy would have said different a couple of years ago but shafts are not the right length if u don't like your gearbox feel free to buy them you have been warned The only complaint I have with J&R is that they insist on selling through their eBay shop by preference, rather than offering the full range of shafts through the trade site. This means that you can often end-up with the wrong specific shaft for a particular model of car, even when you first thought you had ordered the correct part; the main J&R site reverts to a "common" shaft in some cases, then (like me) you are left with a few spares on the shelf whilst you try and get the right one. To give the J&R people their due, if you have a specific request, contact them by Email and ask for them to link the correct part for you, then that way you are assured that the shaft you are buying is likely to fit. I have no problems with the quality of any of the shafts I have fitted to cars that are still on my fleet of customers' cars; not a single one has run-out, droned, leaked, or otherwise gone wrong. At the money, they are incredibly good value. The issue I often have is; Where else do you go for a driveshaft or CV joint? In the case of my own V70 Ph.1 there was no option for the CV, as there are a few different types for these cars, depending on year and engine/transmission. J&R were the only ones to offer a part at any price, which considering they could have been mercenary about the whole business, was circa £30 for the kit for one side. My car is on the road, and would have been scrapped without this service from J&R. If I had a Volvo, and the shaft length was wrong when the part arrived (you always check the old versus the new, don't you?) then I wouldn't fit it - I wouldn't risk damaging the 'box, as there's too much at stake. By contacting the J&R people during the buying process, the problem tends to be a non-starter, i.e. supplied part fits first time, as these people seem to have a good database of all the idiosyncrasies of some obscure makes (VW to name just one). I also wouldn't take any notice of what is written on Facebook. As well as not having an account with that pit of snakes, the whole lot is an unmoderated mess of information for the intellectually-illtiterate.

I can't recall the last time I fitted an OE spec driveshaft or CV joint.

I suppose a lot of it is down to the age and value of car, or availability of parts.
Always get my joints and shafts from local factor. Generally not expensive items, especially compared to dealer.
But have used these people a few times for really unusual applications and never had a problem.
I wonder if some of the facebook warriors are able to check and fit correctly.

I've heard of the shafts not doing too well on Focus ST models but I'm sureally all these cars are modified.

I've deleted Volvoboy and his comments..
I can't find any complaints about this firm, only positive comments..
So I've nuked him, as his email address is a gmail that's only been used to register on here..
He's had 3 days to answer my question and hasn't logged in since...

Wow that link is over 4 years ago let it go mate. I've been using J&R Shafts for the last 5-6 years no problems,I even ordered the worng Drive Shaft once, rang them up when it arrived and they delivered the right one the next day, less than 24 hours.
