Hi everyone We've got this transit connect in at the moment, seems to loose power over half throttle. The fault code is describing a fuel pressure reg above max threshold What ever that means I'm gona start with a new filter on this van, ford says reg is part of pump and over £800 And pressure sensor is part of a complete housing at £266 plus vat!!!! My. Main question is this reg that's being flagged up,the bit in the high pressure pump? My mechanic is saying the reg is in the housing which the pipes are attached to!but I reckon that's the pressure sensor. Is it worth taking out the reg and cleaning it? Any other common issues or tips that's required on this van? Thanks for any help. Ps there was another code stored p0625 generator field terminal circuit low,but I'm guessing this wouldn't give you drivability issues!

Dtc isn't telling you rail regulator is faulty just going beyond limits First step is suspect blocked/contaminated filter / fuel Or injector issue spill rates my not show any abnormal return, and it's best to bench test

It's worth considering that the rail pressure sensor might be faulty & over-reading. This is not exactly an uncommon problem, and gives the same DTC. After checking the low pressure fuel system for restrictions and/or a remote pressure test, the only way to diagnose an RPS is to oscilloscope the raw output pin and look for noise. For engines like the BMW M47 Bosch commonrail in anything from the early 2000's, I don't bother, I just order the sensor and fit it, like usual.....

Thanks to everyone on this I started with a kis Keep it simple Fitted new genuine ford fuel filter, old one was gen too and I fitted it about two years ago. Filled it flush out of a sealed can,I would normally use diesel that's been in a can, but I didn't wanna risk it in this one It started straight away and went like a rocket, all fault codes gone!!!! So just erased codes and gave it back to customer, text him just now and all is well. Nice to have a job fixed easily as this sometimes!!

Nice one! Hope you charged the customer for the job + a beer or two, sounds like you've just saved him a fortune.
