Been offered one of these at what seems a reasonable price, what are these engines like, any common problems, it's got 90000 miles on the clock.

oil flow issues and broken turbos

They are crap in all honesty. Need some serious TLC throughout their life for a strong one.
Cars with DPF can be a problem too

DPF near end of its life
Split DPF pressure pipes

Instrument clusters go AWOL

Ya for retail, I will have a look but I will probably leave it as I don't need to buy trouble, there's enough of that in this game without paying for it. Cheers

I put a battery on a 61plate Citroën Despatch Taxi this week, owner wanted the old battery to take back to the dealership. Vehicle had covered 235.000 miles.

My experience of that engine is that it will have a long life if the lube system is looked after. This can mean fitting a new oil-feed pipe to the turbo and dropping the sump to clean the oil pick-up gauze at about 100k miles. Also, the oil change interval is too long, it needs to be done every 10k miles max. (Maybe this is what Monkey means when he says: "Need some serious TLC throughout their life for a strong one")

We've got a Cmax with one of those engines. Serviced twice yearly with genuine oil and filters with 135k on the clock. Cam chain wore and was replaced last year and has now gotten noisy again, this time on startup and on the overrun. I'm gonna drop the sump and do the necessary with the oil pickup. If it's still the same thereafter then we'll have to pension it off

(Maybe this is what Monkey means when he says: "Need some serious TLC throughout their life for a strong one") Exactly the above, I would drop the sump every 40k miles and clean or replace the pick up pipe and change oil every 10k minimum. It may have half a chance then, however I've never seen one that well looked after so who knows!
