when driven above 60mph. its really annoying cos you just cant make it do it around the local roads,as soon as you get on to a dual carrigeway, bang light is on. got it back and its got p0299 recorded. the turbo charger seems ok for play, but does have some black sooty marks around the middle of the impellor bodies. also my mechanic tells me that the dpf and turbo might not be original. while idling the turbo actuater rod is constantly going in and out like a yoyo!!
the second concern for this vehicle is airbag light on. code b1933 is stored, seems to indicate a fault with the passengers airbag circuit. again any common issues? driver said light came on while he was driving!! thanks for any help peoples!!

Seen the p code before That movement doesn't sound right First off will the actuator move smoothly under Mitty vac control ? Soot is normal There's a revised control solenoid/pipe work I believe Just make sure you have vacuum to the turbo,

Don't worry about the rest for a min
Clear and see what returns
I'm guessing you don't have any air bag simulators for fords
So all your limited to is checking under seat connections etc...
Normally it's the side seat air bag open circuit ( but your snappy doesnt say this )
The yaw rate sensor is in offside b pillar

ok got the limp mode problem sorted. it was the turbo actuator solinoid faulty.(goes around o/s driveshaft area) now im just looking for airbag fault, its not the airbag itself,so gona be checking the wiring to it.

Modern diesel can be interesting to check the battery voltage after a overnight cold start and a few mile drive.
Another interesting diagnostic on modern diesels is to trickle the battery overnight and see how it affects the complaint through the next day.

this one all done and dusted and gone! limp mode was caused by turbo control solinoid. the air bag connector to passengers air bag had been replaced at some point and a new part soldered onto existing wiring loom did the trick. incedently, the "new connector"cam from an older focus and within the connector had a resistor wired in,in serial to the airbag loom. cut the resistor out and soldered across void, got this working correctly. when the guy turned up,i pointed out the flap on top of dash which was permanently up,cos the little plastic hook in the lid had snapped off.he said it was really common on mk2 focus. he showed me a magnetic catch he had bought,it looked like something from a kitchen cabinet. i prised off the whole assembly from the top of the dashboard, pulled out the catch, glued magnet from underneath, glued a washer into the lid after grinding it flat. worked a treat. i used a hot glue gun.
