I might be on the look out for a new daily motor, I quite fancy a E60, I wouldn't want a derv as I don't do that many miles and my commute is only 3.5miles. Plus quite frankly new diesels have so much to go wrong that I couldn't afford to fix lol.
Just wondering if any of you guys have had any dealings with them, I've had a google but pretty much every guide is banging on about diesels. I've heard of the petrol engine injectors going wrong and the odd electrical issue. We do a bit with a local independent bmw specialist and he told me to be careful of noisy cam chains.
Cheers Stu.

These cars aren’t as bulletproof as you might think so you need to buy with care. I agree with Mac keep away from diesel variants. So dependent on your budget buy the best petrol engined one you can afford. Just be careful with the RFL bands should you decide to buy a 540 550 or the M5 as the road tax goes from £280-£285 per year to £490_£500 if registered after 23rd March 2006 so be careful. I know I keep banging on about HPI and I make no apologies for doing so but don't buy anything without one as I've heard so many sad story's over the years.
