Hi fellas. How much is windscreen fitting these days? Called into my local dealer today to pick up some hinge pins and he said we have a brand new screen to fit your car, (cavalier) been sat there for 15 years still in the box, £230 I think he said it was but I could have it for £24 Too good a price to turn it down :/ I'm thinking if I could get the old one out first I could touch up some rust spots before the new one goes in. The old one is De-laminating, gone cloudy/white around the bottom edge and it's peppered with tiny chips. Thought about doing it through insurance after tapping it in the corner but it's £70 excess anyway I think and would they use a genuine screen. The one in the dealers is the same as mine, green tint with sun strip at the top. Not sure whether to bother or not but at £24 I'd be mad to turn it down :/

At 24 quid, BUY IT! even if you just sit it in the loft until you need it, you won't find one that cheap again

I reckon you'll get it fitted for £30 - 50....Just ask the smaller firms, or a one man band

Would it be ok to get in touch with you when I come to fit it. I've not really had chance to ask around yet

Well its all gone Pete Tong Went to pick it up and when we opened it right up some tw*t has poked something through the box and put a bulls eye chip in it on the inside where the tax disc would sit, right in the bottom corner. Kind of relieved in a way that I haven't got to bother with it. When I was working on photocopiers and printers/plotters everything glass related was shipped in a hard board box with a wooden frame. You'd think something expensive like that would be too!! I've seen heated screens for £130, might get one of those if I ever need one in future Least I've saved £24 lol
