I've got a 1400 K-series in my 2004 45. It's very gradually loosing coolant somehwere. Now it's not going in to the sump (oil looks clean and oil-like), I can't feel it leaking from the inlet gasket/manifold joint. I've swapped the pressure cap too for a spare from my old car.
Current thoughts are:
1: Water pump (haven't had the covers off yet, but I've left cardboard under the engine and it was dry on removal)
2: Radiator (it's green, but I can't see a leak)
Any other ideas?

Water pumps if they are just a tad weak normally just weep after a run/ engine off and parked up..
So you've done the right thing putting cardboard under there.
Green on the radiator..Is that staining where the core joins the plastic ends?
Can you post a picture up of it?

It's the actual core that's greening up. I'll sort out a pic as soon as I can. I'll try and get the covers of the water pump but I doubt that'll be easy.

I reckon it's the rad, especially if it's dropping slowly.. last radiator I bought for one of these was approx £60 Yep not easy to get covers off, need to remove engine mount etc

I was thinking rad too. Luckily I have a spare 45 and it so happens the A/C leaking too, so I might try swapping both the rad and A/C condenser.

Have you checked the inlet manifold? It;s quite common for the gasket to leak.

Can often be first indication of head gasket trouble on the horizon , i have had these fail when pressure testing and start to seep out of the head where it joins the block.

Inlet gasket was the first place I checked and it seems fine. I've got a spare so I might just swap it anyway. Here's a pic of the radiator "greening" I mentioned earlier. When the engine is hot and you lift the bonnet you can smell a faint whiff of hot antifreeze:

It's the core turning a greenish colour. The car's running red OAT antifreeze.

Can you put a pressure tester on the system to see if the rad pops ?

I don't have one as i'm not a pro mechanic. I have a spare rad I'll swap over to test.
