Wondered what the the aero type flat wiper blades are like - I tend to buy Halfords on the trade card as they're less than a fiver a set - but they don't seem to last long before juddering and smearing. Thanks

I was looking at these the other day, albeit in the local bargain place, so I'd like to know as well. Mine really needed replacing though so I got a set of Bosch from halfrauds. I like the look of them but thought they would stand out like a sore thumb on an older car. Be nice to know if the aftermarket ones work well though

I've had a set of Bosch Retrofit flat blades but they seemed to smear quickly.(within 6 months) Some own brand from www.wiperblades.co.uk which were crap. Currently using Valeo retrofit flat R51/R48 (VM3 rear) which I think are are better than the Bosch Retrofit. Halfords own brand rear blades are made by Valeo.

Thanks, was wondering how the cheap ones compare - the Bosch ones are about 4 times the price.

I have used the Lidl special offer wiper blades over the years and found them OK, however they don't do the flat type AFAIK.

I've ordered some Aeru Vu blades, feedback seems to indicate they are as good as the more expensive brands, we'll see...

I've ordered some Aeru Vu blades, feedback seems to indicate they are as good as the more expensive brands, we'll see... Well, these have been fitted for 4 months now and they're great, no smearing or juddering, and less than a fiver for a pair delivered.

I've always found Bosh to be pretty poor... don't last very long... halfrauds a little better. Love to know if there was a 'superior' brand about.. don't mind paying a little extra, just want something to last a year
Does anyone know who makes them for Toyota? once they start failing, they are a pain in the a** with the intermittent mode

I bought some in the Range, about £1.50 each. Have lasted over a year but they're past their best now and could be with replacing. Interesting to read comments about Bosch not being great. I was thinking I'd treat myself to some decent ones this time round but perhaps not then. When I got the car it had flat style blades, looked out of place on a 1986 Golf.

I got a few sets of Goodyear flat blades from bristol Costco a few months ago. Think they were about a fiver each. So far they're doing ok. I'd never seen Goodyear wipers before. Went back a few weeks ago and they've stopped doing them

I've got some Hella's that I have just put onto a V70 that I'm bringing back to life. GSF seem to be doing these as the budget-end of their wiper options, around a fiver apiece. Straight out of the box, they're far superior to the Bosch's that I've always used in the past, and less than half the price. They're probably made in the same factory..... Having said that, they are just conventional blades, not the Aero things that seem to be OEM to all and sundry. There are some bonnets that just don't seem to clear the wiper arms if you replace the aero blades with anything taller; I had trouble converting a couple of Disco3's, until I changed the arms (over a bended knee) to suit.
