My Mother--in-law passed away in December 2012 of Dementia it's a debilitating condition and you see a healthy woman over a period of ten years decline. It wasn't very nice to see and my wife was heartbroken. In the latter stages the only think I could think of was to say "this person isn't your mother any longer" she had got violent and tried to intimidate people and start to swear like a Docker. In the end she went into palliative care and was on liquidised food and lost the ability to recognise anybody and speak.Your body starts to shut down it's a terrible experience for the loved ones. That can be down to medication, mum did it and worse, my sister mentioned it to the memory clinic, change of meds and all was back to her normal temperament.

I understand what you are saying with the medication being given as she was on med(s) but can't remember what? We initially thought it was her way of reacting to personal care and was hitting or pushing people away as she wouldn't accept she wasn't well.

Mum would wait for the carers to get close and punch them, she'd also spit at them, as soon as the memory clinic were aware and changed a med, within days she mellowed out to her normal self (not sedated). All meds have side effects - I prefer to not take any myself, live with ABC because the alternative is XYZ.

Hope everyone is having a good day 😂 But for the grace of God, go I............
I have noticed a lot recently; loads of American YT channels where they are lifting what they call "trucks" (they mean bloated pickups, trucks are proper things that pull goods....) on newly-installed 2-posters, but those ramps don't seem to be installed very well, if at-all. You see these rigs wobbling around all over the place, and it makes me wonder if they have any safety standards whatsoever over that side of the pond. Their reaction to the whole lot tipping and bouncing seems to be to just shove a trans jack under the towball, then carry-on with a facility that is clearly not up to working on the size and mass of the Yankee junk they have on the arms.
When I put my 2-poster ramps in, I really made sure that the feet were properly anchored. I wasn't happy on one side, so I dug the floor out and stuck re-bar of my own design and welding, pinned into solid rock and triangulated to oblivion, then back-filled with 7 cubic metres of high-strength concrete around the whole lot.
Life's too short to be messing-around inadequate lifting-gear......

Had to laugh at myself this evening......it's been a long day, "somebody was tired" and was "just doing one last little job" whilst his lovely Lady wife put the long-overdue kettle on top of the stove for a cup of tea;
I'm off on my travels soon, as I need to pick-up a car from Sussex. Almost everything is in-place for a couple of weeks time, but the trailer is going to be " a snag or two" and I'd noticed that the ICE in the Disco2, that I'm about to use for the journey, has completely packed-up. Dead. Kaputt. Not a flicker.
I tried to find the head-unit out of my Defender to wedge in the dash - cannot find it anywhere, "somewhere safe" no-doubt. I did have a horrible-looking (new) unit that someone gave me; it does some things, but no external input. It will have to do.
Having fitted the thing, in-lieu of the Alpine unit that Landrover had originally fitted to this vehicle, I first noticed that it wouldn't make a sound unless the engine was actually running - I need to investigate that. More's the point, I get a "fault lamp for Transmission" up on the dash. Now, I've never seen this one before, not that I can remember anyway.......it was along time ago. Nothing I did would clear it, and I even went to the extent of fitting the old stereo, just in-case the missing information-system plugs into the stereo on the new (horrible) unit were causing some sort of headache in the Transmission controller. It's still there......
Then I finally woke-up.......pushed the MODE button in the centre console (behind the gearlever and under the radio) and the "warning lamp" went out......
I did, indeed, call myself lots of rude names. I hardly ever use the "Winter Mode" on any auto transmission, as I'm much more inclined to just use a manual-override of gears if conditions demand, and if I remember correctly (now) it has been over 20years since I have seen the green-cog symbol on a D2 dashboard - and only due to software-testing in some far-flung environmental test northwards of the Arctic Circle.

Cavalier for me. Although many in the pics were nice. What was the crack with the Montego, looked like it had been pulled out of a barn where somebody had lost the will to live replacing the blower motor

It was then converted from petrol to diesel over a weekend and is going through a "restoration" of sorts.
