I have used from the first month it was opened, and that's going back a bit now..... I have never begrudged filling-up with fuel there; I know it's a load more expensive than it has to be, but it helps them cover their costs for all the other things. I remember it before the duckpond was added onto the side of the restaurant.
Tebay Southbound is a newer outfit, and it has never, quite, had the same feel about it; the food, everything is never quite as good. No reason why (maybe the management is slightly different?), but I'm never quite as happy with that side, but I still stop there everytime. For me, Tebay is a useful position, as it's dinner-time going South on my main commute to Hampshire a couple of times a year, and it's lunchtime going North on the way home. Whatever times those are!! If I was less lazy, I would use the hotel-access overpass to change sides of motorway, but it wouldn't feel the same then..... It was opened in 1972 so it's a far few years ago now. Yes, I was only 5years old back then, but my parents were on the ball when this opened. For ages it was just like a little wood cabin. set back from the motorway, with very young spruces to fill the gap. It was all part of the holiday experience.....we used to stop at the Little Chef's for the Jubilee Pancakes as a treat......

Tesco Lewes, seems to be going up every week. A direct result of the OPEC decision to reduce output (to keep prices high on the crude markets)

I'm wondering if there is just a little political & ulterior motive here : Let the prices on fuel creep-up, makes the BEV purchase prices seem not too bad anymore.
There doesn't seem to be any sort of political impetus here to driving these prices down, as we are still too far from an election........
